THE LOWLAND
The Ligurian Apennines are situated on the lee side of the sea, abounding with picturesque valleys - the most distinguished of which can be considered the Val D'Aveto valley with its natural park, completely covered in white during the winter - as well as the natural park delle Agoraie and Maggetto - with 16 small lakes of glacial origin - among the species of which the wolf stands out, being yet accustomed to the local environment and considered a naturalistic attraction of the park – and all this only in one hour of drive from the sea. The valley of Val Graveglia with its mines, the Borzone abbey, the Fieschi basilica are just a few kilometers away from us. The valley of Val di Vara (or la Valle del Biologico) with its Round Village (Borgo Rotondo) definitely merits a visit.
THE SEA
The main component of your holiday here will be the sea – which can be seen from any window of the building, and is within several minutes of walk from the house - being surrounded by a spacious small stone beach, several private enterprises, and a public beach. You will have the possibility to go diving in the beautiful park of the Portofino cape, or at the San Fruttuoso place; to travel by small ship to the to the Five Lands (Cinque Terre) – which can be also reached by train by those who enjoy walking - as well as admire the picturesque hill overhanging the sea, covered with dense Mediterranean vegetation – which pathways, saturated with aromas, will help you to know better the Tigullio Gulf. The nearby small cities – Sestri Levante, Lavagna, Chiavari, Zoagli, Santa Margherita and Camogli - have rich history and culture.
WHY ALSO IN WINTER
The Tigullio region is distinguished for its mild climate; the house, being situated on the south side, is sunlit during the entire daytime; amazing winter sunsets, coloring the horizon in all the hues of yellow, orange and red; the sea in storm – all this makes you dream, and carries you away into an indescribable reality, being warmed by cozily crackling fire place.
